There are many good reasons to craft a charitable mission statement for your philanthropic endeavors. These include focusing your philanthropy, defining what you will and will not fund through your philanthropy, and ensuring that your family members understand and are engaged (if desired) in your philanthropic activities. An effective charitable mission statement will clarify the long-term impact you hope to achieve and communicate the why, where, what, how, and with whom questions about your philanthropy.
